IVESC pledged to support the executive agency of Ukraine Beiroot Academy,  during a committee meeting, and will provide on-line vocational training counselling to students and teachers.

Among the commitments of the IVESC:

 

1. support for learning management systems as well as professional development for teachers to facilitate the transition to digital learning

2. access to several online courses, including a base-skill courses on teaching and refugee educator foundations of practice

3. scholarships for Ukrainian vocational education students

More than one million school-age children have been forced to flee violence into neighboring countries, while the entire school and university age population is affected.

 

“Ukraine’s impressive range of remote learning platforms is a basis for building resilience. IVESC can be leveraged to expand online learning platforms in Ukraine and refugee-hosting countries; to support vocational teachers; make available learning contents and provide online vocational training support to help students and teachers.” Said Lydia Whipple, the executive member of the Committee.

 

The country counts 695 vocational education institutions. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science, 379 educational institutions have been damaged or destroyed in Ukraine.

 

In committee meeting, chairman pledged to support Ukraine to meet the needs of all vocational learners, both within the country and in neighboring and refugee hosting countries.
