The International Vocational Education Standard Committee (IVESC) has officially announced its participation in the Malaysia-Philippines collaboration on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and the Halal industry. This strategic involvement aims to enhance workforce capabilities and align technical education with global industry standards.

Following discussions between Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and the Philippines’ Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), IVESC has recognized the project’s potential to drive economic growth through skill development and sectoral integration. By joining this initiative, IVESC seeks to facilitate curriculum standardization, promote mutual recognition of qualifications, and support workforce mobility between both nations.

“Our commitment is to ensure that TVET programs adhere to the highest international benchmarks, thereby empowering individuals with globally competitive skills,” said an IVESC spokesperson. “We will work closely with both governments and industry stakeholders to provide technical guidance and policy recommendations.”

IVESC’s role will focus on aligning training methodologies with international best practices, fostering knowledge exchange, and assisting in the development of certification frameworks that cater to the evolving demands of the global job market. Additionally, the committee will support initiatives to integrate halal industry expertise into vocational training, further expanding career opportunities for skilled professionals.

With this collaboration, IVESC reaffirms its mission to enhance global vocational education standards, ensuring that graduates from TVET programs in Malaysia and the Philippines remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic employment landscape.
